Lauren Harris BSc

“Lauren is a passionate dance educator from Saint John, New Brunswick and is so excited to be teaching at Coastal Dance this year! Presently based in Halifax, she specializes in Hip Hop, Contemporary and Jazz styles. She grew up in the competitive dance space, where she first received awards for her teaching and choreographing abilities. Most notably, Lauren was recently the Head Choreographer for Daltheatre’s production of Chicago and is a veteran Instructor and the former President of the Daldance Society. She completed her BSc Medical Sciences degree at Dalhousie in April, 2026 with a certificate in Dance and Movement through the Fountain School of Performing arts, and begins the Dalhousie PharmD program in September, 2026. Lauren loves to focus on the foundational technique that makes dance such a challenging sport, but also to explore how musicality, storytelling and pure joy for dance can combine in the studio and onstage to create a well rounded dancer.”
