Micaela Archer-Shee ARAD RAD RTS

Originally from Nova Scotia, Micaela trained under the tutelage of Nora Oakey ARAD at Scotia Ballet Studio (SBS). She continued her professional training at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, Banff Centre for the Arts, and a graduate of l’École supérieure de danse du Québec, Micaela has performed professionally with Les Grands Ballet Canadiens, Les Jeune Ballets de Québec, the Toronto Fringe Festival of Independent Artists, Halifax Live Art, and the Atlantic Fringe Festival. She is a recipient of multiple Nova Scotia Talent Trust Awards, the Banff Centre for the Arts Scholarship, and was awarded the Canada Council Emerging Artist Award for the balletic creation of Scott MacMillans “Celtic Mass for the Sea” utilizing live Nova Scotian musicians, and Youth Choir ” Soundtrax” with the conductor Gary Ewer.

Micaela has owned and operated Coastal Dance since 1994(formerly SBS). She holds her Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 2 and her Russian Advanced Certificate. She is also an Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance (ARAD) and RAD Registered Teacher (RTS) and has her PBT teachers certificate.

Micaela’s students have attended The National Ballet School of Canada, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, l’École supérieure de ballet du Québec, Alberta Ballet School, Joffrey Ballet School, Boston Ballet School, American Ballet Theatre Programs, The School of Toronto Dance Theatre, and worked professionally with companies such as Nederlands Dans Theater II, Alberta Ballet, and Ballet BC.
