Olivia MacLean

Hip Hop

Olivia MacLean is a professional dance artist, educator, caregiver, and arts administrator based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax. Specializing in hip-hop and commercial jazz, she skillfully blends classical and street dance styles to create dynamic, expressive work. Olivia has performed as a backup and commercial dancer for local drag and arts performers, collaborating with organizations such as YAAS Halifax, and has appeared at events including the Atlantic Pride Festival, Nocturne, and the Unity Charity Festival.

For the past decade Olivia teaches at Halifax Dance, Onset Hip Hop Company, and Omnia Dance Studios. Her choreographic and performance work has been presented at the Kinetic Open Studio Series, Halifax Pride Festival, Nocturne, Halifax Fringe Festival, and Live Art Dance’s Coastal Currents. In addition to her work as an artist and educator, she also contributes to the local arts community through her administrative role at Live Art Dance.

Passionate about creating inclusive and supportive spaces, Olivia continues to inspire and connect with her community through her performances, teaching, and behind-the-scenes work in the arts sector.

This will mark Olivia’s First season with Coastal Dance.
